Artist's Statement :
As an academic art practitioner, I strongly believe in the reparation methods of old wooden furniture . The scrap wood that once was part of old architecture at present is completely deformed. My primary objective is to collect them and reconstruct it according to my sculptural needs. It sets a relationship of interaction between the object and its work journey to a completely new level of its visual aesthetic. Apart from carving the wood, the technical complexity starts from simple to a more complex method like wood interlocking in traditional methods. Rather than the final result of the work, I enjoy the process. Basically the work journey is more preferred for me than the final output as an experimental artist .
The work embodies the indispensable quality of something, especially its abstract feeling. The quality that does not surrender itself to the medium(wood) but also acquaints itself with other materials like leather , metal parts (industrial product , and at the same time, organic things that have, to me, become a fascinating part of my art practice. The strategy of my art practice is not to cease the viewers’ thought with my certain concept, but to give them freedom to analyse the artwork. The work also resembles the dwelling state of mind which is quite ineffable to be described in words. The expressive component of emotion in my works are influenced by the society I live in . Through my art practice I would like to question my own existence. My art practice has given me perennial joy.
