Artist's Statement :

The natural environment of Santiniketan inspires me. My observation of surrounding space has played a very important role in my art practice. Multiple geometrical and natural forms are very significant parts in my practice. My perception is to signify a surrounding object from a perspective of natural and geometrical forms. These objects generate a relationship with the traditional objects found in my locality. I have grown up in such a place where I have observed multiple activities of ritual and traditional practices and its distinct relationship with multiple usable objects which are carrying an iconic symbol. This is an integral part of my art practice.
Through multiple mediums of work and compositional arrangements, I tried to portray my own visual language in my practice. I have noticed a transformation of the cultural practices of my locality from an economic and social perspective. I collect daily usable abandoned materials from multiple areas of my locality and incorporate all that materials in my process of work which is very dialogical. These documentary processes and interactive events introduced me into the periphery of interactive space and public communication. I have been through the character of materiality of the objects. These objects carry a cultural and traditional history of the place and connect with the daily life of people.
Currently, in my practice I am exploring multiple methods and materials and focusing on the character of the form of the traditional usable objects and their importance in present time.
