Artist's Statement :

In a creative field like design, we face an undeniable truth; our wells of inspiration are bound to run dry from time to time. So being a part of fine arts college, I realized exploration is a key part of being an artist. During this pandemic, when I was confined to my house I realized my mental condition was not at its best, so I started to relate to things which I saw around me. These things influenced me to create my works. Each and every work has its own importance in my life, from happy moments to sad ones. After seeing around my surroundings and experiencing various situations, I used different mediums and techniques of textile to bring something best out of my work. I used patchwork or applique technique to show colours, patterns, variation and textures of a certain object. To bring out the nature of my works I also used different dyeing techniques and stitching methods to create intricate texture and colours. Different types of fabrics that I used from old to new also played an important role in bringing out the concepts of my work just like good memories and bad ones. To develop my visual and design sense I usually follow or get inspiration from many respected artists like Paul Klee, Mariana Baertl and many more.
