Artist's Statement :

The response to material has been my focus for a while now. Handling of materials was followed by the technique and mode of productions. Though the final manifestation was motif, the primary role was played by the material and the making. In these years I have consciously made a store of visual response. This was towards the building of an artistic filter that I concentrated on. Primarily, my artworks are relief sculptures. I have simultaneously looked at linear architectural interplay and growth. Though here I have separately examined the two designs, the intention was to look into the areas of compatibility between the two to formulate designs that would not merely combine elements of the two, but reconcile them instead. Designs based on architectural linear structures and vegetative forms marked with a logic of growth and its manifestation in the form of regular texture are components that I want to bring in as sculptural designs that on one hand would indicate the source and on the other hand negate the same to initiate abstract structures. Manufactured designs as architectural interplay of linear frameworks are seen and examined against natural textural designs. This is done with an intention to look into the possibilities of combining the elements in such a way that both traits of manufactured spaces and natural planes amalgamate to form sculptural designs most evident in vegetal cage. My art works have a very sensitive surface and tunic textural quality. This textural interplay of natural planes appears on architectural frameworks in invers.
