Artist's Statement :

Understanding passion is important was very challenging and started looking for new inspirations. Mostly I would like to work in medium of wood. Studying fungus, taking photographs, sketches, understanding form, and shape helped me to incorporate those in my next set of works. And started exploring this in the medium woodcut. Like to see the print of black and white balancing. The repeated pattern observed in fungus, adding more details needed a bigger size of artwork also to make the viewers see the details. The fungus have an important role in the concept of death and birth.it helps to decompose the whole things in the world.
Seed decays to form a new shoot or the formation of fungus is the starting and ending point of the process. This was depicted with various patterns and forms in the Fungus series. Started understanding different ways it spreads it also, resembled the water which is poured on a surface. The change that came was my imagination of a part I saw on the day I started to realize what I was now. One day I saw a butterfly. And I feel it differently. I saw it’s change and time was telling us that the situation we are in today would change and I realize that this landscape made me understand the connection between that scene and what I saw. During this lockdown I’m able to do my works at my room. I have got studio space in lalith kala academy during the pandemic. And I could do my work at home. I prepared my surroundings space as a working studio. As a practicing artist it’s really important to make me comfortable to do my work .
