Artist's Statement :

My artwork takes a critical view of folk art, traditional and cultural issues. Often referencing Indian history, my work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. Having engaged subjects of our society, my work reproduces familiar visual and aural signs, arranging them into new conceptually layered art. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different projects, they are linked by recurring formal concerns and through the subject matter. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work. Each project often consists of multiple works, often in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings. During research and production new areas of interest arise and lead to the next body of work.
Dilemma – My art work dilemma is bee wax batik technique. Batik is the famous traditional technique in Santiniketan. In this art work I want to show, A women is always in the dilemma of her life, which she is able to get out of it only posthumously. A woman is surround on different types of society dilemma.
Female Mutual Support – in this art work I want to show, present time situation of female, I represent a female group to support each other.
Self-centred – The Art, I want to use gel pen on canvas. I want to show self- absorbed. if you are overly concerned with yourself, including your own feelings and thoughts, your self- absorbed. self-absorbed people don’t think much about how other are feeling (influence from Madhubani Painting Style).
Surrender to Each other – in our society every people is surrender to each other and same topic i want to show that the Pair of Peacock aesthetics reflects the society’s surrender to each other (influence from Madhubani Painting Style).
Inherent in Nature - The art work a buddha like a monk is the inherent in nature and go toward infinity.
