Artist's Statement :

After completing my higher secondary education from Patha-Bhavana (Visva –Bharati), I followed my instinct to express the happenings within me through the form of art and joined Kala-Bhavana.

My works are not only based on beauty but also on experiences of my own life. My work process depends on my daily activities; from where I gather the essence of knowledge. The virtual things - memory, emotion - realizes the existence of me. Memory helps me build the taste of my work, it also reminds me of my journey. I nurture the mind-boggling incidents of life for a certain time to get to the deep. Many ideas arise, develop, or get rejected through this process. I want to bring the experiences I have to light through existing material.

My goal is not to explain the world but just to express my “self”. In this world each material has its individual quality. I pay attention when I choose the raw material. I look for materials which resemble the weight and quality of the original piece I intend to create. When I see ordinary people finding joy from my creation, I can relate myself even more to them and feel a strong connection with humanity. When I see my imagination taking form in three-dimensional existence it adds to my excitement.
